Types of accommodation

Family House: Participants taking Portuguese classes may be placed with local families. These families may offer a private room and bath but this is not the rule; the candidate may have to share the room and bathroom with another family member.

Hall of Residence: It is very common to share a house with other students in cities where there are universities. These cities have few private rooms available.

Hostels: Hostels are located downtown in most major cities.
