Are there any requirements to apply for the programme?

You need to be at least 18 years old and also attend University or any other similar course in your country.

Can I request a visa extension in case I decide to continue my internship?

No. The period you will spend in Brazil will be defined before the beginning of your programme. Once you have arrived, you are not allowed to obtain an extended visa.

When will I receive my first salary?

Salaries are paid once a month in Brazil. Your salary will be paid when you complete a full month worked.

Is health insurance compulsory to apply for the programme?

Yes. Before leaving your country, make sure you are fully insured against illnesses, accidents, and death for the whole period of your stay, as there is no national health care system for foreign students in Brazil. Please bring the insurance policy with you to be shown to either the exchange organization or the employer upon your arrival.

Are all job positions payable?

Yes. Your salary will be sufficient for the cost of living for one person. However it will not cover extra expenses, such as trips on the weekends and excursions. In many cases (most cases!) your lodging and your meals will be given for free. If this is not the case, you can be sure that the money you are receiving will be enough to pay both your food and housing. Do not forget to bring enough money to cover living expenses during your first month in Brazil until you receive your first salary.

Do I have to speak Portuguese to apply for the programme?

No. Most of companies do not require Portuguese skills but you are expected to have a good knowledge of English. However, we strongly recommend you buying a Portuguese pocket dictionary and learn some words to make yourself understood.

When am I expected to obtain my visa?

Obtaining your visa and getting information about your housing will be the last part of the application procedure. Once you have everything confirmed with the company you will work for, we will send you by mail all necessary documents to get your visa in the nearest Brazilian embassy.
