Is there a time limit for the Training?

Trainees are limited to a maximum of 18 months participation on the Agricultural Experience USA programme. Trainees are not guaranteed the entire 18-month programme. Since the length of programme is based on Individual Training Plans, placements vary from 4 to 12 months during the First Practical Training Programme. Trainees are eligible for a programme extension only if they take the study programme.

Where are the placements located?

70% of the trainees are placed in the Midwest, including over 40% in Minnesota. Agricultural placements are often located in rural isolated areas. Horticultural placements are often located in urban areas where housing is usually outside the family.

Will I be paid for the Training?

Trainees will receive an hourly wage. When room and board (which is must include at least two meals per day) is provided, the hourly wage will be a minimum of 5.35 USD per hour. When room and board is the responsibility of the trainee, the hourly wage will be a minimum of 7.00 USD per hour.

What placement options are available?

Do I have to be agricultural student to qualify for the programme?

No, you do not need to be a student. It is enough that you have completed secondary school and had a minimum of two years "hands-on" experience in the chosen field.
