Work and Travel Italy

Now you can stay in Italy for between 2-6 months! We offer a paid work placement programme in hotels and rural accommodation designed for short stays. You will improve your language skills and level of communication, as well as gain a better understanding of the Italian labour market. The programme is designed for participants from countries throughout the world.

You can combine this programme with an intensive language course for foreigners. If you already know the language, you can opt to begin your work placement right away.

Work placement details

All placements are in Three – Five Star hotels and are located in rural areas. Participants may obtain jobs in different departments. A work placement in the Reception Department is only possible if you have an excellent knowledge of Italian language plus previous work experience.

Duration

The length of the programme depends upon the work establishment. Some are open throughout the year, others only during the high season, from April to October. The minimum contract is for 4 weeks, and the maximum is 6 months (contracts may be extended).

Working hours

Normal working hours are between 38 and 40 per week. However, specific working hours depend on the region and season.

Pay and accommodation

The minimum guaranteed wage is between €200 and €300 per month, depending upon the establishment and the type of employment. Participants will stay in hotel room (usually shared) with full board.
