Eligibility. Who can participate

Applicants must be:
- Single, 21-29 years of age, with consideration given to applicants aged 18-32;
- In good health, without limitations that would prohibit participating fully in training activities;
- Secondary school graduates;
- Minimum two years’ practical hands-on experience in chosen field since the age of 16;
- Conversant in English;
- Committed to the programme.
How To Apply To A Programme?
Step 1
Read carefully the programme description and eligibility criteria. Then fill out the online application form and pay the booking fee in order to apply.
Step 2
Global Choices confirms your booking and place on the programme. We appoint a programme coordinator to lead you through the rest of the application process until your are successfully placed.
Step 3
You communicate with your programme coordinator and exchange all necessary documents and forms. Once the placement is confirmed you will need to purchase insurance, pay the remaining program balance together with other fees (if appropriate).
Stage 4
After you accept your placement, your coordinator will send to you the documents needed for the visa application. You must visit the U.S Consulate or Embassy in your country to obtain an entry visa to the United States.
Required documents
- Completed application form;
- Completed Health and Medical History Questionnaire;
- Two references;
- Your autobiography (not a CV or resume) on a separate piece of paper;
- One passport sized picture (for trainee directory);
- A copy of your passport’s information page;
- Other documents, such as transcripts, certificates, and other information that would enhance your application (optional).
Work permits and visa
You need to apply for a J-1 Visa at the US Embassy or Consular Office in your home country.

You’re required to submit:
- Completed and signed visa application form (Form 156). This form is available at no charge at any US Embassy abroad or you can download it at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html;
- Your DS-2019 form – this is proof of your sponsorship;
- A valid passport for travel to the USA, with an expiry date that is at least six months longer than the end date of your programme;
- One photograph showing your face with no hat against a light background;
- An official receipt confirming that the proper fees were paid to the US embassy (visa application fee and SEVIS fee).
Bear in mind that even if you receive a visa, the US department of Immigration and Naturalisation reserves the right to deny your entrance to the United States.
Deadlines
Trainees should arrive for the scheduled orientation and programme dates. If there are visa delays or problems, trainees should arrive for the next make-up orientation.
