Do I need teaching qualifications to apply for the programme?

No, you do not need formal qualifications. You only need to be a native speaker of English.

Do I need to be a student?

You need to be a student or a graduate to be able to participate in the programme.

How long is the programme?

There are two length options: July through December Semester Programme and August through July Academic Programme.

Is a "language counsellor" the same as a teacher?

No. You will be expected to help in the classroom and co-teach. You will be giving presentations, prepare language practise exercises and carry out conversation sessions.

Will I be paid?

Yes, you will receive monthly allowance from school to cover expenses.

Do I need a visa to go to Brazil?

Yes, you will need to obtain the Temporario Item 1 visa. You will get an acceptance letter to prove you will be on an exchange programme.
