Internships in Brazil
Eligibility
You must be between 18 and 28 years old.
Language requirements: Applicants should have a basic knowledge of Portuguese so that they can adapt to their working environment more quickly and can perform better during the internship. Intermediate level of Portuguese is a plus as some companies may require that. Portuguese is not necessary for most of the positions. All participants must speak English or Spanish, besides their native language.
How to apply for a programme?
Step 1
Read carefully the programme description and eligibility criteria. Then fill out the online application form and pay the booking fee in order to apply.
Step 2
Global Choices confirms your booking and place on the programme. We appoint a programme coordinator to lead you through the rest of the application process until your are successfully placed.
Step 3
You communicate with your programme coordinator and exchange all necessary documents and forms. Once the placement is confirmed you will need to purchase insurance, pay the remaining program balance together with other fees (if appropriate).
Stage 4
After you accept your placement, your coordinator will send to you the documents needed for the Item I visa application. You must visit the Brazilian Consulate or Embassy in your country to obtain an entry visa to the Brazil.
Deadlines
- Find an Internship & Combo: we have to receive your application form at least three months before your intended start date.
- Do it Yourself: we have to receive your application form at least two months before your intended start date.
Required documents
- Application form completed in English;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Cover letter;
- Letter of recommendation;
- Document confirming your attendance at a university;
- A copy of passport main pages (ones with photo, personal details and expiry date);
- Two passport sized pictures;
Travel Medical Insurance - We require that you purchase affordable and comprehensive travel medical insurance from Global Choices. You can use this insurance for up to one year and it provides unlimited coverage for doctor and hospital care, as well as medication.
Work permits and visa
Temporario Item I Visa is required for participants of Internship programmes. In order to get this visa, you should attach a letter from your employer, a letter from Global Choices to the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in your country and a job description. The letter from Global Choices will be issued after full payment for the programme is received. At the moment, the cost of a Brazilian Visa is around US$75.00 / £40.00. Please note that it takes about a week or two for the Brazilian embassy to issue Visa.
